Key Responsibilities As the Head of Secondary English, you will play a crucial role in shaping the English curriculum and leading a team of enthusiastic educators.
Your responsibilities will include: Teaching and Learning: Delivering high-quality English lessons that inspire and engage students, while monitoring their progress and supporting their individual needs.
Holistic Wellbeing: Contributing to the overall well-being of all pupils and serving as a form tutor, fostering strong relationships with students and their families.
Curriculum Development: Collaborating with teaching staff to enhance the English curriculum, developing teaching resources, and implementing best practices in assessment and pedagogy.
Staff Leadership: Leading and motivating your team while participating in staff performance reviews and contributing to professional development opportunities.
Home-School Communication: Establishing effective communication pathways with parents, keeping them informed about their children’s learning journey and academic progress.
Qualifications • Bachelor of Education, or a subject degree plus PGCE • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent • A minimum of two years of teaching experience • In-depth knowledge of your teaching specialism • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
