Our Aerospace client based in Shanghai, China, are looking to appoint a Senior Engineerto be engaged on Flight Control Systems Safety in Shanghai.
This will be a long term role. Fixed term contracts will be offered to the successful candidate. If you are interested to live and work in Asia, this opportunity will allow that to happen with plenty of time to explore this region, its culture and customs.
Role Overview:
This role supports two of our client's aircraft programmes in Shanghai. The engineer will be responsible for designing and verifying the flight control safety architecture in compliance with EASA CS-25 and other international certification standards.
Key
Responsibilities:
Lead the system safety design and architecture for flight control systems, ensuring compliance with CS-25 and EASA regulations.
Carry out safety assessments:
Functional Hazard Analysis FHA
Preliminary System Safety Assessment PSSA
System Safety Assessment SSA
Aircraft-level Safety Synthesis
Prepare and review certification deliverables:
Safety Plans
Certification Plans
Compliance Reports
Verification Summaries
Work directly with CAAC, EASA, and internal teams to support certification audits and design reviews.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to flight control and safety teams.
Perform system architecture trade-off analysis to support optimal design decisions.
Participate in developing design assurance processes aligned with ARP4754 A ARP4761 ED-135 ED-79

Optionally support research or standardization related to UAS, VTOL, and future digital safety tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
Masters Degree or above in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
8–10+ years of experience in flight control systems, safety engineering, or certification for Part 25 aircraft.
Deep understanding of ARP4754 A / ED-79 and ARP4761 / ED-135

Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing EASA certification documents.
Familiar with FTA, FMEA, and other safety analysis methods.
Experience in regulatory engagement EASA, FAA, CAAC.
Strong communication skills; Fluent in English, Mandarin is a plus.
Preferred Background:
Prior experience with Airbus, Boeing, or Tier-1 aerospace suppliers
Participation in EUROCAE or RTCA working groups.
