Job Description We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated PMO Lead to join our dynamic team at a leading pharmaceutical company in Shanghai, China.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) function, ensuring successful execution and delivery of critical projects across the organization.
The PMO Lead will work closely with senior leadership, project managers, and cross-functional teams to align projects with the company’s strategic goals, drive project efficiency, and ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the establishment and management of the Project Management Office (PMO) , ensuring effective project governance, processes, and best practices are implemented across the organization.
Oversee a portfolio of projects across various departments and functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to define project objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring that projects are aligned with the company’s priorities.
Establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, and tools to ensure consistency and efficiency in project execution.
Monitor and report on project performance, including tracking project progress, identifying risks, and providing mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead and guide project managers and teams, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills, resources, and support to succeed.
Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure clear and transparent project status updates.
Manage project risks and issues, proactively resolving challenges and ensuring projects stay on track.
Develop and maintain a centralized project repository and documentation, ensuring all project information is accessible and up-to-date.
Lead the development of training programs and provide ongoing coaching to project management teams to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Ensure that projects comply with relevant regulations, internal guidelines, and industry standards, especially within the pharmaceutical sector.
Continuously assess and improve project management processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration , Project Management , Pharmacy , or a related field.
Proven experience as a PMO Lead or in a senior project management role, with 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
Strong expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP , PRINCE2 ) and familiarity with Agile or other project management frameworks.
Experience in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
In-depth knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project , Jira , Asana ) and the ability to implement and use these tools effectively.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, especially in a fast-paced, regulated industry like pharmaceuticals.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements is a strong advantage.
PMP or Pg MP certification is preferred.
Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
